Our process: What to expect during your newborn photography session
As a newborn photographer, I understand that your baby's first portrait session is a special moment in your family's journey. And since I do things differently than most newborn photographers I want to take the time to explain the process and what you can expect during your newborn photography session. First and foremost, I always prioritize the safety and comfort of your newborn. I understand that newborns require special care and attention, which is why I have created a process that is designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your little one. When you book a session you'll receive a handy guide all about what to expect. You'll also receive a link to fill out a session questionnaire. We'll discuss your vision for the photo shoot and answer any questions you may have. We'll also go over the details of the shoot, including what to wear, how long the session will last, and what to bring. âWhen I arrive at your home, I'll take the time to get to know you and your newborn as I set up my equipment. There's usually time for one last feed before we start the photoshoot. If you have young children I prefer to start the session with family photos. Then I'll move on to posing just baby. I'll carefully position your newborn in a variety of poses and backgrounds to create a collection of stunning photographs that capture the essence of your little one. If we didn't start with family photos then they will happen after the baby only portion of the session.
Throughout the shoot, we'll ensure that your newborn is comfortable and safe. We'll take breaks as needed for feeding, changing, and soothing. I understand that newborns have their own schedules, and we'll work around your baby's needs.
After the shoot, I'll edit and enhance the photos to bring out the beauty and personality of your little one. I'll then present you with a collection of high-quality, digital images via slideshow so you can relive these precious memories with your family. It's a really special moment so I hope you'll make time to really soak in the first time you view your images.
Next you'll choose your product collection at which point your online ordering gallery will open for one month so you can choose your images and printed products.
At Jessica Esplin Photography, I'm committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for you and your newborn. I understand that this is a special moment in your family's journey, and we're honored to be a part of it. This post has been a preview of what you can expect from my email list. It is generally recommended to book a maternity portrait session between 28-36 weeks of pregnancy, as this is when the baby bump is most prominent and the mother is likely to feel the most comfortable. This also allows for enough time to schedule the session and make any necessary arrangements before the baby is born. However, it ultimately depends on individual preference and the availability of your photographer. This was a brief topic this week so I've decided to give you a little bonus question on how to choose a great photographer for documenting your pregnancy with portraiture.
What are some questions a pregnant mom should ask when booking a photographer for a maternity session?
As a busy mom, you're always looking for ways to make your life easier and more efficient. That's why I wanted to share with you a powerful tool that can help you "hack motherhood" and streamline your daily routine: Chat GPT. Check out each section for example questions to ask Chat GPT.
Chat GPT is an AI-powered language model that can provide you with helpful tips and advice on a variety of parenting topics. Whether you need help with feeding, sleeping, playtime, or any other aspect of motherhood, Chat GPT has you covered. And BTW, about 60% of this blog post was written by Chat GPT! Here are a few ways you can use Chat GPT to hack motherhood: Get personalized advice: Chat GPT can provide you with personalized advice based on your specific needs and preferences. Simply input your question or topic, and Chat GPT will generate a response tailored to your situation. You can customize your questions based on what stage of life you're in such as pregnancy, postpartum, or based on the age of your child. The more info you provide the better the advice you'll receive. Try asking Chat GPT: "Tell me about common new parent concerns" or "What do I need to do before baby arrives".
Save time:
With Chat GPT, you can get instant answers to your questions without having to spend hours scouring the internet or asking other moms. It's a quick and easy way to get the information you need, when you need it. Try asking Chat GPT: "Can you tell me about diapering basics including how often to change a diaper and how to prevent diaper rash." Learn from experts: Chat GPT has been trained on a vast amount of parenting information and research, making it a valuable source of knowledge. You can trust the advice and tips provided by Chat GPT, knowing that they are based on the latest scientific research and expert opinions. However if you have any health concerns be sure to consult your doctor. Try asking Chat GPT: "What should I expect in the first weeks and months after having a baby" or "How can I manage difficult postpartum emotions".
Get support:
Motherhood can be challenging, and it's important to have a support system in place. Chat GPT can provide you with emotional support and reassurance when you need it most. You can always count on Chat GPT to be there for you, 24/7. You can put your mind at ease by asking Chat GPT: "When should my baby reach different milestones" or "How can I establish a sleep routine?" That's why we recommend Chat GPT as a valuable tool for "hacking motherhood" and making your life easier.

Hi there, I'm Jessica and I'm a traveling newborn photographer in Utah County. When I started specializing in newborns I traveled to my clients' homes and even though I've had several opportunities to have a studio I've found that I prefer to go to the homes of these newborn babies. Why? Because I remember what it's like to have a brand new baby and I want to make your life easier. It's a struggle to get everything that you need out the door. The baby might get hungry on the way to a studio, they might have a diaper blowout. You might forget something. If your photographer comes to you instead then all of those issues are solved. I wanted to take some time in this post to answer some questions about what I do as Utah Valley's best traveling photographer. What is a traveling newborn photographer? A traveling newborn photographer is a professional photographer who specializes in newborn photography and is willing to travel to clients' homes or other locations to take photographs of their newborns. This is in contrast to a studio-based newborn photographer, who typically works out of a fixed location and requires clients to come to them. Why should I hire a traveling newborn photographer? Traveling newborn photographers can provide a more convenient and comfortable experience for new parents, as they can come to the client's home and take photographs of the baby in the familiar and comfortable surroundings. This can be especially helpful for parents who have just had a baby and are adjusting to the new routine and responsibilities. The photographer can bring the necessary equipment and props to the client's home, allowing for a more personalized and intimate experience. How does this work? I provide a hassle-free experience by bringing my studio equipment to your home. During newborn sessions, I will bring an array of props, adorable outfits, charming accessories, backgrounds, posing accessories, professional lighting equipment, and my high-quality camera. Together, we will capture priceless memories in the comfort of your own home. Check out the video below to see what my setup looks like when I photograph your baby. |
