My daughter Amy was born a few weeks before my husband graduated with his PhD in Acoustics. And a few more weeks before we moved cross country. Yes it was a hectic month, ha ha! I did my best to photograph my own baby but oh man it was hard. I had a c-section for the first time (she's my third child) and everything was harder. We ended up splitting her session (both in the hospital and at home) into four or five parts over a few days to get everything I wanted. I'm especially glad I did my own photos in the hospital because the photographer they had associated with the hospital that took her photos there did a terrible job. #photographerproblems

These four little babies mark the beginning of my newborn photography journey which started in 2014. Two were boys and two were girls - a nice balance. One of the newborn babies I photographed was my nephew that I photographed in the hospital on the day he was born and again in his grandma's home in Utah. The other three lived in Pennsylvania. Another baby I was lucky enough to photograph in the hospital and then his home with his siblings. |
